Q7 | Quat Effluent Monitoring

Sanitizing solutions find use in numerous applications and play important roles in minimizing the growth and negative effects of pathogenic organisms. Whether a component in a track lubrication system or a larger scale sanitizing bath, ADBAC quat, alkyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride is a useful.

While a useful component, over-dosing chemistry in a solution or exceeding effluent discharge concentrations is problematic from an environmental standpoint and potentially opening to regulatory challenges and penalties.

Arc Revere quat waste water monitoring

PRODUCT & BENEFITS

The Q7 system is a battery powered sensor head and status alert module. The sensor head samples the waste stream from food and beverage applications, typically, where quat is used as a component of the sanitizing effort to minimize bacterial contamination from within lubricants or cleaning activity. A compact pump draws samples from any available effluent access point and assesses the level of quat in the stream and transfers that information to the status alert module.

ADBAC quat, Alkyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride, is the sanitizing component monitored with this particular device and assesses and alerts to concentrations at site selectable concentrations, i.e., 500ppm (target adjustable).

COMPACT

The compact Q7 system is easily located anywhere along an operation path where assessment is desired. The system does not require complicated installation and long battery life is assured through robust engineering and intermittent sampling. Offered with wired remote alert, the operation of the device is simple and offers fast immediate notification so staff may react promptly, saving down time and expensive processing equipment cleanout and labor to refresh.

HANDS-FREE, INTUITIVE

With a single button press, Q7 automatically begins assessments with no further operator involvement.  The system assesses the level of quat in the solution and, if the sanitizing solution is within the target range and below the threshold, a bright green ON TARGET light illuminates. If the level of quat detected is higher than the target, a bright red light illuminates OVER Target, an audible alert is sounded, and a signal is relayed via wired connection.

Q7 cycles automatically running a solution assessment on a user selectable interval of three, fifteen or thirty minutes and illuminates the appropriate status light until the next sampling interval. This cycle continues until the device is powered down with a simple button press.

SAVE TIME, REDUCE STRESS, MAXIMIZE PRODUCTION

The benefit of the Q7 comes from helping to ensure that the sanitizing component in solution is correct before and during any discharge. Ensuring that the sanitizing solution does not exceed the threshold becomes the simplest of functions for the operator and clearly alerts them if excess if present. In the busy ongoing operation of the business, Q7 removes burden from staff so they may be more productive and place their focus on more revenue-driving work.

CUT COSTS

One of the more significant aspects influencing costs in the processing stream is the incorrect use of chemistry. Overdosing chemistry generates negative impacts on processing line productivity due to stoppage and forced unplanned cleaning. Ever tightening regulatory control over effluent concentrations further compounds the issue. Q7 provides a robust, hands-free, cost-effective solution to positively impact these challenges.
